門島の時間Time with Kadoshima
隔週土曜、門島でカーヴィングを教わる時間があります。
この日は色付け後の革を保護する工程を行う人がいたので、写真を撮らせてもらいました。
彼女は革への着色をすっかり済ませてあったので、レザーバインダーという液を塗りました。
名前のとおり、定着させやすくする液です。
門島では、着色後の革に、レザーバインダー⇒レザーコート⇒レザースプレーを使います。
色のつき方がしっかりするからです。
レザーバインダーを施した革は、色割れが少ないです。着色した革には大切な下地剤です。
Every other Saturday, I am learning carving at Kadoshima.
There was a person the carving protection process on this day, so I took a picture.
She painted leather completely, so she used a leather binder.
This is a liquid that makes it easier to fix. In Kadoshima, use leather binder ⇒ leather coat ⇒ leather spray for leather after coloring.
Bindered leather has less color cracking. It is an important foundation for colored leather.
バインダー液が乾いた後、線やスタンピングを強調するアンティック・ダイを革に摺りこみました。
この作業は大急ぎです。
アンティック・ダイが乾かない間にふき取るからです。
拭く面を一回ずつ変えながら、布でどんどんふき取ってしまいます。
After the binder liquid dries, She rubed against the leather with an wax paste that emphasizes lines and stamping.
This is rush work. It is because it wipes off the wax paste while it does not dry. She wipes off with a cloth steadily while changing the surface to be wiped once.
1つの作品が仕上がるまで、どんなものづくりも同じだと思います。
下準備がたくさんあって、何か1つを進めるためにいくつもの出来事が起こります。
それらを省くことは、言い換えれば良い物を作らないことを意味します。
省くかどうかの判断は、一人前になった人ができることで、
そしてものづくりを本当に愛する多くの人は、結局工程を省く判断をしません。
形だけが似ているもの、仕上げたばかりの状態だけが問題ないものは、
見た目ではすぐにそれと知ることはできません。
でも使えばすぐ良し悪しは分かるのです。何かがもろい場合、それは大切な工程を大切にできなかった場合だけです。
門島のレザーカーヴィングはもちろん職人ではないですが、彼女たちの行うものづくりは丁寧で真面目に向き合う時間が作り上げています。
私はこの場所へ行くたびに、その姿勢を尊敬しています。
Until one work is finished, I think the same for any craft. There are lots of preliminary preparations, and several events occur to advance something.
To omit them, in other words means not to make good ones. Judgment as to whether to omit it is a thing that can be done by a person who has become a full‐crafter, And many people who really love craft will not decide to omit the process after all.
Things that resemble just shapes, those that only look like it ok, anyone can not know it as soon as it looks. But you can tell right or wrong if you use it. If something is brittle, it is only when you can not cherish important processes.
Although Kadoshima's leather carving is not a craftworker, of course, the crafts they do are polite and time-seriously facing each other. Every time I go to this place, I respect that attitude.
